Questions & Answers
Question: What does information technology mean to love "unconditionally?"
Answer: Allow's set up a distinction kickoff betwixt feelings and behavior.
Loving unconditionally ways y'all have deep feelings for someone no matter what. Y'all don't put atmospheric condition, boundaries, limits, or contingencies on how yous experience nigh them. Nothing can change your love for them.
For example:
• You lot still love your parents fifty-fifty though they voted for Donald Trump and proceed to defend his politics
• Yous nevertheless love your teenaged son even though he is failing Algebra
• Yous nonetheless love your sis even though she has never repaid you the $500 she owes you
• You still love your cousin even though he is a hardcore meth addict and has stolen from you lot also as everyone else he knows
You can love someone unconditionally for who they are, regardless of
1) differences between yous in attitudes and values
2) their life decisions and choices
3) flaws and failures and
4) habits, addictions, illnesses, and shortcomings.
However, just because you love someone unconditionally doesn't mean you lot accept to tolerate repeated bad behavior from them, especially when such treatment violates your dignity and self-worth.
Relationships involve mutual commitment and advice. They are a cooperative exchange, non a grab-northward-go where one person is the consistent beneficiary, and the other is repeatedly taken reward of.
Relationships typically demand conditions, boundaries, contingencies, and limits between partners to exist healthy. (I'thou sure that there are probably relationship deal-breakers in fifty-fifty the closest of your relationships.)
Thus, to revisit the above examples of unconditional love,
• You can set limits with your Trump-loving parents about acceptable topics of conversation. You lot all the same love them unconditionally; behaviorally, y'all are setting limits nigh what you're willing to discuss.
• Y'all can get your son a tutor and limit his figurer and phone, assuasive him to earn back his privileges with electronics with ameliorate grades. You still love him unconditionally; behaviorally, you have to set some contingencies regarding his grades and electronics.
• You can set boundaries with your sister by telling her you that you're canceling her debt, but you will no longer lend coin to family. You all the same love her unconditionally; behaviorally, yous re-establish expectations nigh adequate behavior.
• Y'all explain to your meth addict cousin that yous cannot have any human relationship with him until he is clean and sober. Yous still honey him unconditionally; behaviorally, yous are setting a boundary or minimal requirements for what is required to be active in your life.

Very squeamish listing of songs. However, he is no longer here then there is no one to make a list for. George Jones said it all-time "Merely a Expert Hearted Woman In Dear With A Two Timing Human" but in the end when he became sick, he so realized what he nearly threw away. Maybe if he would have stopped his drinking then his pancreas might have been okay but that canteen was more important, he started drinking by the time he was in 7th course. But it just another bedtime story, cause it makes me sorry to call back of a honey and so warm and true to lay shattered there on the floor.
FlourishAnyway (writer) from Us on Jan 28, 2018:
Suhail - You're then right virtually dogs. Although I don't take dogs myself, I do occasionally help out with my grandmother's ii elderly dogs. They accept outlived my granddad whom they dearly loved. I of them parked herself beside his deathbed for days while he was dying. He was at home in hospice, and she would lick his hand if he put it over the side of the bed. She monitored who came in the room and wouldn't leave except when we made her get swallow or pee. The dear was boggling. If people had just half of that commitment. Truly unconditional. I wish I could say as much for my grandmother just that's just her.
